Top 10 Places to visit on the Lizard Peninsula

  1. Kynance Cove

Truly stunning scenery and turquoise waters this has got to be our top pick! It is difficult to believe that this picturesque place is in fact in the UK. It is understandable why so many flock to visit this spectacular cove over the summer months.

 

2. Lizard Point

I may be a bit biased however i can’t write this and not include where we are based! The lizard point has spectacular views, great eateries and a couple of great retail opportunities. It is the perfect spot to come and catch a glimpse of the local seals and enjoy a variety of stunning coastal walks around the area.

 

3. Cadgwith Cove

A quaint and beautiful small fishing village which boasts Cornish charm. This unique little village has some beautiful traditional thatched houses and a quaint pub where you can have a quick drink and something to eat on your travels!

 

4. Mullion Cove & Mullion Village

Mullion cove is amongst one of our favourite spots, a beautiful harbour nestled amongst towering cliffs and turquoise waters this really is a must see! In Mullion village you can find a selection of places to enjoy a boozy drink and some lovely food. Mullion village itself has a beautiful old church and traditional stone cottages.

 

5. Coverack

A beautiful bay which is the perfect place to go for a swim and/or paddleboard on a nice summers day. There are various places where you can enjoy a bite to eat or a drink whilst overlooking this glorious bay.

 

6. Roskilly’s

A family friendly option not far from Coverack & St Kevern this is a great stop for foodies alike. Roskilly’s is a working dairy farm and produces some delicious ice cream. It is worth a trip just to try some of the many flavours they have. They also have a variety of animals such as goats, sheep and pigs that you can visit. During the summer months you can sit in the courtyard and enjoy some fabulous food.

 

7. Helford River

There are heaps of places along the Helford river where you can park up and go for a dreamy walk. The setting for Daphne Du Maurier’s Frenchman’s Creek it is hard not to fall in love with this picturesque part of Cornwall.

 

8. Gweek Seal Sanctuary

A family friendly option and a fun day out if you have little ones. Go and visit the seal sanctuary and learn about the rescue efforts of the team there and meet some of their local residents! It's a great way to learn about our local wildlife. The seal sanctuary is also dog friendly so you can take your four legged friends with you.

 

9. Poldhu Beach & Kennack Sands

Two perfect locations if you are looking to have a relaxing day by the ocean. A popular spot for beach goers and those wanting to soak up some Cornish sunshine. Both beaches have cafes serving a variety of food and drink and are easily accessible by car with car parks directly opposite.

10. Carleon Beach (Poltesco)

A quiet lesser known spot which holds the remains of a 19th-century serpentine factory. Park up and go for a wander along the footpaths. This area is tranquil, serene and the perfect place to visit if you are looking for something a little different!
